FLAP SURGERY

Gum flap surgery is an in-office procedure in which Dr. McKenna separates the inflamed or infected gum tissue from the involved teeth to treat a variety of bacterial infections. Additionally, bone defects may be correct on the surface on you teeth. This procedure is called recontouring. A non-surgical treatment for less severe periodontal cases is usually attempted first. Gum flap surgery is recommended if the gum infection does not respond to the less invasive methods.
